Rocket Armor is a small VR game built to explore an alternative philosophy towards VR movement. The title was the result of months of planning and experimentation on top of years of research and investigation into Virtual Reality technology.
The initial aim of the project was to find a way to provide complete and continuous 3D locomotion in VR without making the user sick. “Simulation sickness” is a difficult problem to solve since it requires extremely responsive and yet-to-be-developed hardware. Applying what we learned, we were able to release an intense and uninterrupted action experience without compromising user comfort.
Pilots blast through timed courses with incredible speed while swarming enemies demand tactical evasion and skilled aerial combat maneuvers.
DBL founding members conducted research, planning, operations, audio, and systems development for the project. You can find Rocket Armor on the Steam Store here.
